
Homemade Apple Fruit Leather β Naturally Sweet & Chewy Roll-Ups

- 1.2β1.5β―kg sweet apples β peeled, cored, chopped
- 1β2 tsp lemon juice.. Β½β1 tsp ground cinnamon.. Pinch of sea salt
- Optional: 1β2 tsp maple syrup β only if apples are very tart

Cook the apples: Place chopped apples in a saucepan with just 2β3 tbsp water. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat 8β12 minutes until completely soft and falling apart. Stir occasionally.

PurΓ©e until smooth: Remove from heat. Add lemon juice, cinnamon, salt, and sweetener if needed. Blend until perfectly smooth and velvety β no lumps. Simmer uncovered a few minutes if too runny.

Spread thinly: Preheat oven to lowest setting (80β95β―Β°C / 175β200β―Β°F). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Pour purΓ©e and spread evenly and thinly, about 2β3β―mm thick β thinner edges dry best.

Dry slowly: Place in oven with door slightly ajar (prop open with a spoon handle). Dry 4β7 hours, rotating trays halfway. Done when surface is matte, dry to the touch, and peels easily from the paper with no sticky spots.

Cool & roll: Let cool completely on trays β it firms up as it cools. Peel off gently, cut into strips, roll up, and store in an airtight container. Keeps 2β3 weeks at room temperature, up to 2 months refrigerated.
