Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse

Rich, creamy, and velvety smooth chocolate mousse made with ripe avocado as the secret base — no dairy, no eggs, and no heavy cream needed. The avocado creates a luxuriously silky texture that blends perfectly with deep cocoa flavour, balanced with natural sweetness and a hint of vanilla. It’s indulgent, healthy‑ish, and ready in minutes, with a taste so good you won’t guess the main ingredient!

đź›’ Ingredients

  • #Base;
  • 2 large ripe avocados (flesh only, no brown spots)
  • 60 g unsweetened cocoa powder (or dark cocoa powder)
  • 80–100 ml maple syrup / agave nectar / coconut sugar syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 3–4 tbsp full‑fat coconut milk or almond milk
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract.. Pinch of fine sea salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice (optional, to prevent browning and brighten flavour)
  • #Toppings (all vegan);
  • Grated dark chocolate (70%+ cocoa).. Fresh mint leaves.. Cacao nibs
  • Sliced fresh berries.. Coconut whipped cream

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. 1

    Prep ingredients: Cut avocados in half, remove pits, and scoop out all soft flesh into a food processor or high‑speed blender.

  2. 2

    Blend: Add cocoa powder, sweetener of choice, plant milk, vanilla, salt, and lime juice (if using). Blitz on high speed for 1–2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Keep blending until completely smooth, creamy, and no lumps of avocado remain — the mixture should look glossy and uniform.

  3. 3

    Taste & adjust: Try a small spoonful — add more sweetener if you prefer sweeter, extra cocoa for deeper chocolate flavour, or a splash more milk if too thick.

  4. 4

    Chill (optional): Spoon into serving glasses or bowls. Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to let the flavours meld and the texture firm up slightly.

  5. 5

    Serve: Top generously with grated chocolate, mint leaves, or your favourite toppings just before serving.
