This 100% vegan version uses smooth, flavourful plant‑based butter and wholesome ingredients, keeping the signature clean, fresh taste, perfect contrast of creamy and crunchy, and timeless elegant appeal without any dairy or animal products at all.

đź›’ Ingredients
- 4 thick slices of crusty French baguette or sourdough
- 6–8 large fresh radishes (red or mixed colours), trimmed
- 60–80 g high‑quality vegan butter, softened at room temperature
- 1 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped.. Flaky sea salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- Edible flowers or extra chives, for garnish (optional)
👩‍🍳 Instructions
- 1
Prep the bread: Toast the baguette slices lightly until golden and crisp around the edges — do not over‑toast, so the inside stays soft enough to hold the butter. Set aside to cool slightly.
- 2
Prep the radishes: Wash the radishes thoroughly and pat them completely dry with a clean cloth. Slice them paper‑thin using a sharp knife or mandoline for even, delicate rounds that show off their beautiful colour.
- 3
Assemble: Spread a generous, even layer of softened vegan butter over each slice of warm toast. Arrange the radish slices in overlapping layers or a neat fan pattern over the butter.
- 4
Season & finish: Sprinkle generously with flaky sea salt, a twist of black pepper if you like, and scatter finely chopped chives over the top. Garnish with edible flowers or extra chive tips for a lovely, classic French presentation.

Serve: Enjoy immediately while the bread is still warm and the radishes are perfectly crisp and fresh — ideal as a light lunch, starter, or elegant party bite.
