🛒 Ingredients

  • 300 grams of carrots, either whole small carrots or cut diagonally lengthwise. (As the main ingredient)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable butter/olive oil (as the main ingredient)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar/granulated sugar (as the main ingredient)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of water/vegetable stock (as the main ingredient)
  • A pinch of salt and black pepper
  • A little lemon juice (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley for sprinkling

    Prepare the carrots: cut them into uniform pieces so they cook evenly. Then wash them thoroughly.

    Cook: Add the carrots, water, vegetable shortening, and sugar to a skillet. Cook over medium heat, covered, until the carrots are half-tender.

    Caramelization: Remove the lid, reduce the heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the liquid reduces to a thick, glossy layer that coats the entire surface of the carrots.
